Portland Meetup This Tuesday

When: Tuesday, October 1, 7:00 PM

Where: Cartopia, 1207 SE Hawthorne Blvd. This is a food cart pod with many options. Organizer Noah will stake out a table space with an SSC Meetup sign. Afterwards there might be an afterparty at 1546 SE Ladd Ave (private apartment).

Why: I’ll be in Portland as part of the Meetups Everywhere tour

Who: Anyone who wants. Please feel free to come even if you feel awkward about it, even if you’re not “the typical SSC reader”, even if you’re worried people won’t like you, etc.

    Belated thought for Scott, if he reads this, on the Niceness Field.

    After thinking about it more, I think I did observe that people interrupted each other less and were nicer in the conversations that I observed that you were participating in, compared to the ones you weren’t. But I think this is better explained by the celebrity effect than by a niceness field; people wanted to impress you and no one wanted to look like a jerk in front of you.
